Privacy Policy
1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is Piotr Watras. Contact on privacy matters: info@subscribebtn.com.
2. What data we collect
The subscribe btn mobile app is designed to collect only the minimum data needed to deliver notifications:
- Push notification token (FCM) — a unique device identifier generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging, required to deliver notifications. It contains no name or email address and cannot by itself identify a specific person.
- Anonymous device ID — a random identifier generated by the app, used solely to associate your subscriptions with your device.
- List of subscribed channels — the identifiers and names of the YouTube channels you add, needed to check them for new videos.
We do not collect: analytics data, crash reports, advertising data, tracking data, account data, payment data, or location. The app displays no ads.
3. Data stored on your device
The list of watched videos and cached channel details are stored only in your device's memory. This data never leaves your phone. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the app.
4. Purposes and legal basis
We process the data described above to deliver the new-video notifications you request by using the app and granting notification permission at the operating-system level. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract — providing the notification service) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest — keeping the service running).
5. Data recipients
The FCM token is passed to a processor: Google Ireland Limited (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Google's data practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy documentation. The processor may process data outside the European Economic Area — such transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. YouTube
The app uses the YouTube Data API to search for channels and display their names, thumbnails and subscriber counts. Channel content belongs to its owners. The app is not affiliated with YouTube, Google, or any channel author. See the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Data retention
We keep your data until you uninstall the app, remove your subscriptions, or disable notifications — the push token then expires and your data is removed from the service's servers.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your data, as well as the right to object (GDPR Art. 15–21). To exercise these rights, email info@subscribebtn.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Poland: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl).
9. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's data.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date.
